Radu Miruță, the interim Minister of National Defense, stated in an interview that the incident with the Russian drone in Galați could happen again, emphasizing that the Romanian Army is doing everything possible with the available resources. He mentioned that a new radar recently detected a Geran-2 type drone, and the first anti-drone capabilities will arrive by the end of this year, with full implementation in the second half of next year. Miruță highlighted that, although the Romanian Army has made progress, drones are becoming increasingly difficult to detect. He also pointed out that Romania has requested help from allies to defend against aerial threats. Following the incident, Romanian officials condemned Russia's behavior, and Miruță challenged the Kremlin to verify the origin of the drone. The Romanian Army confirmed that the downed drone had an explosive payload of 30 kg.

"Things are changing from day to day. What was valid a week ago is no longer applicable today regarding our defense capabilities, however, the capabilities of those who attack are not left behind, they are improving. We have anti-air defense systems that, until recently, had a better sensitivity to the thermal signature of these drones. Yes, scenarios can repeat. The Romanian Army does not keep anything unused in storage that could be used in this situation. And even if it does not have, it tries all possible methods to minimize, in a very short time, what we have observed generates problems. This has happened recently," said the interim Minister of National Defense, Radu Miruță, in an exclusive interview for Antena 3 CNN.
