The President of Romania announced the implementation of the National Strategy for the Defense Industry, which will take place between 2024 and 2030, emphasizing the importance of revitalizing this economic sector. Although Romania has had a tradition of poor management in the defense industry, the president stated that the country is committed to improving the situation. In discussions with the NATO chief, topics related to security in the Euro-Atlantic space, the need to increase defense spending, and additional military capabilities that will be deployed on the Eastern Flank, including in Romania, were addressed.

The president emphasized Romania's commitment to invest in strengthening its military capabilities, especially in the context of security interests in the Black Sea area. Additionally, Nicușor Dan reaffirmed that Romania will respect the obligations assumed within the NATO alliance.
