The interim Minister of Investments and European Projects, Dragoș Pîslaru, stated that Romania has obtained a favorable opinion for Payment Request no. 4 from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), worth 2.62 billion euros. The Economic and Financial Committee of the European Union (ECOFIN) confirmed that all milestones and targets have been met, and the funds will be available without suspensions or corrections.

This raises the absorption rate of PNRR funds to over 60%, totaling nearly 13 billion euros attracted by Romania. Pîslaru emphasized that this is the first request fully managed by the Bolojan Government, highlighting progress compared to previous delays. The deadline for completing reforms and investments is August 31, 2026, and the authorities are negotiating with the European Commission to maximize fund absorption. Every euro attracted will contribute to investments in infrastructure, education, and digitalization, and the minister expressed optimism regarding the successful completion of the PNRR.
