The National Administration "Apele Române" (ANAR) warns that Romania is in a very difficult hydrological period, with the Danube's flow at the entrance into the country (Baziaș) at 1,600 m³/s, with a forecasted decrease to 1,500 m³/s around August 6.

These values are nearly three times lower than the multiannual average for July, approaching the historical minimum from 1985. In this context, SN Nuclearelectrica informed ANAR that Unit 2 at CNE Cernavodă will remain connected to the National Energy System, operating under safety conditions. In the Călărași-Cernavodă sector, level III restrictions for irrigation are maintained.

According to Agerpres, the drought affects several regions of the country, but there are no restrictions on water supply for the population, with the filling degree of the accumulation lakes being 70%.
