Romania ranks 5th as a vacation destination for Romanians, with an average budget of 350-500 euros per week.

A survey shows that Romania ranks 5th in the vacation preferences of Romanian tourists, after Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey, and other European destinations. Almost 40% of respondents intend to spend between 350 and 500 euros per week for their main vacation in 2026, and 58% prefer all-inclusive services. The majority of Romanians (91%) are confident that they will go on vacation this year, however, 53% of those who will not travel mention lack of money as the main reason. Most Romanians (54%) want vacations of 6-7 days, while 39% plan two vacations of one week each. Regarding destinations, 52% choose Bulgaria, while only 5.3% opt for Romania. Good accommodation conditions at a fair price are essential for 70% of respondents. Additionally, 70% are concerned about accommodation issues, and 68% prefer to travel by their personal car.
