Romania gains access to the American Counter-UAS platform for anti-drone solutions

The Minister of Defense, Radu Miruță, announced the signing of a letter of intent with Daniel P. Driscoll, the Secretary of the U.S. Army, for cooperation in the field of drones and anti-drone systems. Romania thus becomes the second country in the world, after the United Kingdom, with real-time access to the Counter-UAS Marketplace platform, which offers over 1,600 anti-drone solutions, facilitating rapid response and efficient procurement.

Miruță emphasized the importance of this partnership in the context of regional security, mentioning that Romania is not just a beneficiary but an active partner. General Gheorghiță Vlad, Chief of the Defense Staff, highlighted cooperation with the U.S. as an essential pillar for regional security. The Counter-UAS Marketplace platform allows for the rapid identification and procurement of solutions tailored to operational needs, streamlining procurement processes in the defense sector.
