The Minister of National Defense, Radu Miruță, had a meeting in Brussels with Andrius Kubilius, the European Commissioner for Defense, to discuss strengthening the European Union's defense capabilities. Romania reaffirms its commitment to implementing the common European vision for preparing the defense industry by 2030. The discussions highlighted the importance of European initiatives for increasing the level of defense preparedness, according to the 'Defence Readiness Roadmap 2030'.

The two officials agreed on the need to develop a balanced and competitive industrial base capable of rapidly producing the necessary equipment. Miruță emphasized the importance of harnessing the industrial potential of member states and supporting Ukraine, including through the new support instrument - Ukraine Support Loan. Military mobility was also discussed, considered a strategic priority for facilitating the rapid movement of forces on NATO's eastern flank.
