At the Transylvania EU Funds Day event in Alba Iulia, MEP Victor Negrescu highlighted Romania's positive relationship with the European Union regarding European funds, emphasizing that the country has contributed approximately 30 billion euros to the common European budget and has received over 100 billion euros.

Negrescu mentioned that 9 out of 10 public investments in Romania have been made with European funds, and 60% of current projects depend on these resources. Looking ahead to the future financial cycle 2028-2034, Romania could receive nearly 60 billion euros, but negotiations for the multiannual European budget are ongoing. The MEP emphasized the importance of developing national and regional plans approved by the European Commission, as well as the need to prepare large projects to compete effectively with other member states.

He also highlighted the change in the distribution of funds, with the majority to be managed directly by Brussels. The event was organized to discuss the future of European funds and strategic investments for the development of Romania.
