According to a statement from the Ministry of National Defense (MApN), recent discussions between Romanian and American officials focused on cooperation in the field of defense, regional security, and strengthening NATO's Eastern Flank. Radu Miruță, the Minister of Defense, emphasized Romania's commitment to the Strategic Partnership with the United States and the importance of the transatlantic relationship. Although Romania is facing a difficult fiscal context, it respects its NATO commitments to increase the defense budget.

Miruță highlighted the role of the American military presence and investments in strategic areas for national security. The two officials also discussed deepening bilateral cooperation, including the development of military infrastructure and conducting joint exercises.
