Health Minister Rogobete has announced the launch of procedures to update the list of subsidized medicines, with the aim of introducing new treatments by the end of this year. The measure seeks to increase patients’ access to the medicines they need, including innovative therapies.

In a video message posted on Facebook on Sunday, the minister said he had requested meetings with representatives of the National Agency for Medicines, the National Health Insurance House, and manufacturers of innovative and generic medicines. The discussions are expected to examine and accelerate the administrative procedures required to update the list.

Rogobete stressed that access to treatments must not be blocked by political disputes, bureaucracy, or a lack of administrative decisions.

The announcement comes after the budget adjustment approved by the Government on November 30. The Health Ministry’s budget was increased by 8.3 billion lei, with some of the funds to be directed toward national health programs. The ministry has not yet specified which medicines could be added to the subsidized medicines list or the exact timetable for the procedures.
