The authorities in Tulcea County issued a new RO-Alert message on Sunday, warning the population about the possibility of falling objects from the airspace.
At 15:09, the radar system of the Ministry of National Defense (MApN) detected an aerial target near the river border with Ukraine, which led to the takeoff of two F-16 aircraft of the Romanian Air Force at 15:17 to monitor the situation. The National Military Command Center notified the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, which sent the RO-Alert message to residents in the northern area of the county. The population was advised to take shelter and remain calm.
It is important to mention that this is the second alert issued on the same day, the first being generated by an aerial target detected in the morning, which later disappeared from the radar without entering Romanian airspace.
