RO-Alert message issued in Iași County: Possible drone incursion

Residents of Iași County received an RO-Alert message on Saturday, October 31, regarding a possible drone incursion after an aircraft was spotted over the village of Breazu. People were advised to seek shelter amid the risk associated with the unauthorized overflight of the region’s airspace.

“Air raid alert. Possible drone incursion. Remain calm! Seek shelter in basements or civil protection shelters. If no shelter is available, remain inside your home, away from windows and exterior walls,” the message sent to the population stated.

RO-Alert did not specify the exact area concerned or the duration of the alert. According to ziaruldeiasi.ro, the drone was seen over the village of Breazu.

According to the latest information released, at 4:54 p.m., the drone that had illegally flown through the airspace of the Republic of Moldova disappeared from radar monitoring systems near the village of Țibirica, Călărași District.

The incident is the second of its kind reported in Iași County, amid alerts concerning the appearance of drones near the borders of Romania and the Republic of Moldova.
