A young man from Galați, who claims to be an Orthodox priest, has built a church without the recognition of the Romanian Orthodox Church, stirring the outrage of the locals.

The 23-year-old young man was arrested in the past for fraud and practicing a profession without a license. Locals are upset that the young man uses various strategies to attract parishioners, including offering gifts, and he argues with the local Orthodox priest. Although the young man claims to have all the legal approvals, the Archdiocese of Lower Danube has confirmed that he is not recognized as a priest. An investigation is underway to verify the legality of his activities.
