The border police discovered 30,000 counterfeit items and 47,400 duty-free cigarettes in a truck, with a total value of over 7.1 million lei.

The border police from the Territorial Inspectorate of the Border Police Giurgiu made a record seizure on the A2 highway, at the Fetești toll station, where they discovered over 30,000 items suspected of being counterfeit and 47,400 duty-free cigarettes, hidden in a truck registered in Romania.

The total value of the seized goods exceeds 7.1 million lei. The driver of the truck, a Turkish citizen, was placed in preventive arrest for 30 days, being accused of circulating counterfeit products and smuggling. The truck has been immobilized, and investigations are ongoing to establish the entire criminal activity.
