Alfred Simonis, the president of the Timiș County Council, announced at a press conference that the budget for this year exceeds for the first time one billion lei, being the most ambitious in the last 36 years.


The total budget amounts to 1,155,853,000 lei, with 63% allocated to investments, compared to 2024, when the budget was 768 million lei, with only 35% for investments. Simonis emphasized that the budget includes record amounts for education, health, heritage, and infrastructure. The main allocations target the construction of the 'Dan Păltinișanu' Stadium, the renovation of Huniade Castle, and the development of sports complexes. The budget will be submitted for approval in the Timiș CJ meeting on May 6.
