Constanța police recently detained five individuals, including a public notary, as part of an investigation called "The Inheritance Factory." This criminal network, which operated for seven years, is accused of illegally obtaining the homes of vulnerable elderly individuals through forged documents, which were then sold to bona fide buyers.

Investigators identified a complex system through which group members, including notaries and a judicial executor, exploited the victims' vulnerability to take their apartments. Additionally, serious abuses were discovered, such as lack of food and medical care for the elderly individuals. DIICOT prosecutors have proposed the preventive arrest of those detained, and the investigation continues to gather additional evidence about the illegal activities carried out by the network.
