Răzvan Cuc, former Minister of Transport in the Grindeanu and Tudose governments, has been detained by prosecutors of the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) in a case concerning bribery and complicity in bribery. The searches took place on Tuesday, both at Cuc's home and at that of a businessman, in the context of an investigation regarding a public procurement procedure of 23,000,000 lei, initiated by the Autonomous Administration of the Romanian Auto Registry. Prosecutors claim that, between September and November 2025, the defendant B.D.C. and his accomplice C.R.A. promised the general director of R.A.R. a percentage of 6% of the contract value, in exchange for the preferential designation of members of the bid evaluation committee. They allegedly agreed to pay the amount in installments, with the first being offered before Christmas.
