Justice Minister Radu Marinescu has announced a recently adopted law raising the retirement age for magistrates to 60, in line with the government program.

Radu Marinescu said that, according to the new law, the retirement age for magistrates will be standardized at 60, stressing the importance of social justice. He commented on President Nicușor Dan's refusal to sign the decrees releasing some judges, emphasizing the need for cooperation between the powers of the state. The minister warned that the departure of experienced magistrates from the system could destabilize justice, stressing that solutions must be in line with the existing legal framework.
