Raiffeisen Bank has announced a new functionality that facilitates money transfers by joining the national instant payment system RoPay. Customers can make quick and free transfers using only the recipient's phone number, without having to enter the IBAN. This option allows for non-stop transfers, regardless of the recipient's bank, as long as it is registered in RoPay.

RoPay, developed by TRANSFOND and the Romanian Banking Association, aims to facilitate fast and secure transfers between participating banks. Raiffeisen Bank customers benefit from flexibility in changing the account associated with the phone number, control over service settings, transparency in viewing transaction details, and the freedom to opt out of the service at any time. To use RoPay, an active current account in lei and the Smart Mobile application are required. This initiative underscores Raiffeisen Bank's commitment to the digitalization of banking services, providing modern and efficient solutions for customers.
