The head of the Department for Emergency Situations, Raed Arafat, stated that the explosion in the building on Vicina Street no. 1, in Rahova, was caused exclusively by the accumulation of gas, without any other indications of explosives. Arafat criticized the spread of false information aimed at undermining public trust in authorities, mentioning that such speculations are unfounded and may come from groups with destabilizing interests.

The director of the Criminal Investigation Directorate, Cristian Gheorghe, added that a crack in a gas pipe outside the building is the main hypothesis of the investigators, but there is still no preliminary expert report. Additional details will be available once the expertise from INSEMEX and INEC is completed.
