How Romania would react to an attack: Early detection and the role of NATO

The Minister of Defense, Radu Miruță, stated that Romania could detect a potential missile attack in advance, thus providing authorities and NATO with days or even weeks to prepare.

In an intervention on Antena 3, Miruță explained that monitoring systems in the region, including radars in Turkey, would allow for the identification of missiles before they reach Romanian territory. He emphasized that NATO has mechanisms that ensure a rapid and coordinated response in the event of a threat, and Romania does not expect to be caught off guard by an attack. The minister mentioned that there are specific scenarios for various types of attacks, and information about possible threats is available up to 60 days before an attack.
