Radu Miruță, the interim Minister of Transport, announced on Wednesday the convening of the general meeting of Metrorex shareholders to propose the dismissal of the current management, following a report from the Control Body of the Ministry of Transport, which highlighted management issues. Additionally, Miruță announced that he has signed an order postponing the fare increase at Metrorex, from 5 to 7 lei, scheduled for May 1.

This fare increase had been approved by the former PSD minister, Ciprian Șerban, on the last day of his mandate, after the PSD withdrew from the Bolojan Government. The management of Metrorex is ensured by Mariana Miclăuș, supported by PNL Ilfov.
