Eugen Tomac has been mentioned as a possible nomination for the position of Prime Minister of Romania by President Nicușor Dan. During a press conference, when asked if he would accept the nomination as Prime Minister, Eugen Tomac replied: "The country needs a Government, for sure."

Political sources claim that Nicușor Dan has informed the leaders of the former coalition about his intention to propose Tomac for this position. Although further details about the ongoing negotiations have not been disclosed, Tomac emphasized the importance of dialogue and collaboration between political parties to ensure governmental stability. This proposal comes in a complex political context, and reactions from the parties will influence the course of future negotiations.

The main names being circulated for the position of Prime Minister are those of presidential advisor Radu Burnete, Delia Velculescu, head of the International Monetary Fund mission in South Africa, and Șerban Matei, currently the director of the International Relations Directorate at the National Bank of Romania.
