Radu Miruță, the Minister of Defense, stated that it would be beneficial to make public the total amount of aid provided to Ukraine, proposing to resume discussions in the Supreme Council of National Defense (CSAT) to assess whether the information can be disclosed without affecting the national strategy. He emphasized that the decision to classify this information was made during the term of former President Klaus Iohannis. Miruță explained that the aid, including the recent amount of 50 million lei, is part of an international mechanism through which Romania contributes to supporting Ukraine, without directly transferring money, but rather military equipment through the NATO budget.

He also mentioned that not publishing these amounts could fuel extremism and emphasized the importance of transparency in strategic decisions. Miruță reiterated that he will propose reopening the discussion in CSAT, considering the current geopolitical context.
