The Ministry of National Defense is in the final phase of preparing the Volunteer Soldier Program on Time, with about 3,500 young people targeted for training in 2026.

The Minister of National Defense, Radu Miruță, made a visit on Tuesday to Battalion 265 Military Police, where he announced the implementation of the training program for soldiers and volunteer ranks in term (SGVT). The purpose of this program is to form a young and well-trained operational reserve that can respond to current challenges.

Miruță emphasized that SGVT represents an investment in Romania's defense capacity and in the resilience of society.

Young people who achieve good results within the program will have the opportunity to continue a military career. The Ministry of National Defense (MApN) announced that the Romanian Army offers modern conditions for accommodation, meals, training, and physical preparation.

Once the budget is approved, MApN has initiated the process of approving the normative acts necessary for the implementation of the SGVT program, considering the training of approximately 3,500 young people by the year 2026.
