Radu Marinescu, the Minister of Justice, stated that the appointments of future chief prosecutors and deputy chief prosecutors of DNA and DIICOT will not be the result of political negotiations, but will take place according to the law. He encouraged prosecutors with managerial vision to apply for the competitions organized for these positions.

Marinescu explained that the selection process will include a committee from the Ministry of Justice, an advisory opinion from the Superior Council of Magistracy, and the final approval of the President of Romania. He also emphasized that current chief prosecutors can be reinstated in their positions, as the law does not prohibit this. The deadline for submitting applications is February 9, and the proposals will be sent to CSM on March 2.
