The "Corruption Kills" Association organized a protest at Cotroceni, demanding the dismissal of the head of SPP, Lucian Pahonțu, following the statements of President Nicușor Dan.

The "Corruption Kills" Association organized a protest at Cotroceni, in response to the Recorder investigation regarding the controversial past of the head of SPP, Lucian Pahonțu, and to his support from President Nicușor Dan.

Demonstrators, who display banners and chant slogans such as "Freedom, not security!", demand the dismissal of Pahonțu, a former officer of the Security Troops, who has led SPP for over 20 years.

Protesters emphasize that Pahonțu was involved in repressive actions during the 1989 Revolution and in the events of the University Square in 1990.

Although Nicușor Dan promised an "honest Romania" and state reform, protesters believe that keeping Pahonțu at the head of SPP contradicts these promises.

The organizers of the protest demand breaking ties with the old power networks and assert that Romania must not accept the influence of the Security in state institutions by 2026.
