Bogdan Ivan stated that the hospitals most affected by the heating issues are the Fundeni Institute, C.C. Iliescu, and the Oncology Institute. Following the meeting with the Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, inspections were ordered on the electricity distribution company, as the hospitals use air conditioning units and air heaters, which risks overloading the electrical network.
Ivan mentioned that checks are conducted twice a day to prevent potential problems. It is estimated that, soon, temperatures will return to normal averages, reducing the pressure on the system. Ivan also highlighted the historical issues of the heating network in Bucharest, which has not received significant investments in the last 35 years. The Minister of Energy confirmed that the damages have been repaired, but the old boilers, which are 55-60 years old, remain a problem. Solutions are being sought to avoid the repetition of these situations next winter, including the introduction of mobile heating systems.
