The judge for rights and freedoms at the Constanța Tribunal accepted the DIICOT's proposal for the preventive arrest of a 40-year-old man, accused of forming an organized criminal group and complicity in human trafficking. The measures are part of the 'Trojan Horse' case, which involves 35 defendants, of which 15 are in preventive detention.
The DIICOT investigation reveals that, between 2017-2020, the man provided protection for the group members and assisted in the recruitment and sexual exploitation of two minors through violence and manipulation.
Additionally, a commercial company associated with the group was used to launder approximately 340,000 lei and 95,000 euros derived from criminal activities, including human trafficking and pimping. The court ordered restrictions on the legal entity to prevent its dissolution or liquidation.
