A premature newborn died after the ambulance got stuck in mud in Iași, causing the intervention to be delayed. The police have opened a criminal case.

A tragic incident occurred in Iași, where a premature newborn died due to the delay of the ambulance, which got stuck in mud about 2 kilometers from the mother's home.

The 19-year-old woman, pregnant in her eighth month, called 112 after she felt unwell. Two ambulances were dispatched simultaneously, one of them having a neonatology crew. Unfortunately, the ambulance that arrived first got stuck, and the other crews were redirected on detour routes, arriving with delays. The mother stated that the baby was breathing at birth, but could not be saved.

This is the second similar incident in less than two weeks in the same area, where an ambulance was also stuck in the case of a man in critical condition. The police have opened a criminal case for manslaughter.
