The situation at the Praid Salt Works in Harghita County is critical after the underground dike collapsed due to water pressure, resulting in severe flooding. The flow of the Corund stream has increased dramatically, affecting salt stocks and equipment. The authorities, under the leadership of prefect Petres Sándor Sándor, recognize that interventions are too risky at present. Raed Arafat said a plan to restore the creek bed and the salt works is being worked on, but the local community is already feeling the severe economic impact of its closure.
