Ponta believes that the method of forcing mayors to mobilize voters is outdated and will lead to their rejection. He warns that PSD risks becoming a minority party, similar to those in other countries in the region. Grindeanu, on the other hand, responded that Ponta has a "brand of traitor", making any collaboration between them difficult.
