A police officer from the 4th precinct in Ploiești has been sent to trial on charges of using his position for sexual purposes, after a woman filed a complaint claiming she was raped by him. The woman reported that she was called to the officer's home, where she was subjected to sexual abuse. Initially, she went to the police station to report a theft, but later returned to denounce the rape.
The officer admitted to having sexual relations with the woman, but claimed that they were consensual. The investigation was opened in April 2024, and the case will be tried at the Ploiești Court. The leadership of the Prahova County Police Inspectorate ordered preliminary investigations both against the officer and against the leadership of the 4th precinct, considering that the officer should not have called a complainant to his home.
