A 36-year-old police officer employed by the Pitești Police Section 2 was taken in for questioning by DIICOT prosecutors in a pimping case. Searches took place on Tuesday, September 15, both at the officer’s home and at the police station headquarters in the Găvana district.
Investigators are targeting the officer publicly identified by the initials M.C. and are examining suspicions that he recruited two women for prostitution using the “loverboy” method. Prosecutors are analyzing whether the police officer persuaded them to engage in prostitution and whether he obtained income from this activity.
After the search at his home, the officer was escorted to the police unit where he works for the continuation of the proceedings, and was subsequently taken to the DIICOT headquarters to give statements. Prosecutors were to determine whether procedural measures were warranted.
The police officer has worked in the system since 2013, after graduating from the “Vasile Lascăr” Police Agents’ School in Câmpina. The information in the case is under investigation and does not represent a conviction, while the officer benefits from the presumption of innocence.
This is the second case in Argeș County in which a police officer is being investigated for similar offenses. In November 2025, an officer from the Pitești Traffic Bureau was charged in a separate case involving pimping and human trafficking.
