A chief police officer, aged 28, has been sent to trial by the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Bucharest Tribunal for bribery. He is accused of having solicited 700 lei from a drug dealer in preventive detention in July 2025, to facilitate an intimate meeting with his girlfriend under illegal conditions. The defendant received the respective amount in two installments, between July 16 and July 25, 2025. The case is currently pending at the Bucharest Tribunal, and the police officer risks severe penalties for his actions.
