A police officer aged 35 has been placed in preventive custody, being investigated for trafficking minors, human trafficking, pimping, and money laundering.
According to IGPR, the man recruited a minor victim in 2015, forcing her to engage in prostitution in Switzerland between 2016 and 2019. Additionally, starting in 2018, he used the 'loverboy' method to recruit another victim, compelling her to prostitute until 2026. The amounts obtained from the criminal activity were concealed by transferring assets to family members. Following the searches, considerable sums of money were confiscated, including 400,000 lei and 455,000 Swiss francs. The officer was detained on Monday, and on Tuesday, the Argeș Tribunal ordered his preventive arrest for 30 days. The Romanian Police emphasized that they distance themselves from the inappropriate behaviors of their employees.
