In the period from January to November 2025, the police intervened in 125,000 reports of domestic violence, recording an increase of 3,768 compared to the previous year. Although the number of reports has increased, criminal offenses decreased by 17.8%, from 54,833 to 45,061. The most common crimes were assault or other forms of violence, threats, and family abandonment.
The police issued 13,995 temporary protection orders, and the courts confirmed 5,258 of these. Additionally, 4,117 offenders were required to wear electronic monitoring devices, but 11,738 victims refused this measure. Starting from August 1, 2025, the IGPR implemented additional measures to identify situations of domestic violence, even when victims do not cooperate. These initiatives aim to improve the protection of victims and prevent violence.
