Between October 2 and 8, the Romanian Police conducted 2,372 prevention and information activities in pre-university educational institutions to improve the safety of students and teaching staff.
Of these, 1,051 activities focused on preventing violent crimes, such as bullying and school violence. Police officers also responded to 25 incidents reported on or near school premises.
A total of 218 activities were organized to prevent the use and illicit trafficking of drugs and prohibited substances. Another 265 actions focused on training security personnel to respond to various situations. In addition, 232 educational institutions were inspected to assess how security was being provided.
Police officers also participated in 105 meetings of action groups established at school level to adapt safety measures.
During the 2026-2027 school year, the Romanian Police is carrying out the project “Just because they do not complain does not mean they no longer need you,” as part of the campaign “Silence is also violence. Your voice is the solution.” The institution is also implementing a national plan to prevent juvenile delinquency, drug trafficking and crime in schools.
