Daniel Fenechiu, the leader of the PNL senators, declared on Tuesday that his party will not support the candidates proposed by PSD and AUR for the leadership of the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR). Fenechiu emphasized that the alliance between PSD and AUR is strengthening in the Culture Committee and the Foreign Policy Committee, where the candidates of the two formations are set to be validated.
PNL does not have its own candidates and will only vote for the candidates of USR, UDMR, and independents. Additionally, USR senator, Ștefan Pălărie, confirmed that USR will adopt the same position, highlighting the collaboration between PSD and AUR. The culture and foreign policy committees of the Senate will hear the candidates on Tuesday, and the plenary vote will take place at 4:00 PM, when the new leadership of the ICR will be decided.
