PNL could ask Grindeanu to resign from the leadership of the Chamber of Deputies if PSD ministers withdraw - sources

PNL is analyzing the option of asking Sorin Grindeanu to resign from the leadership of the Chamber of Deputies, in response to PSD's decision to withdraw political support from Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan. The PNL leadership discussed this scenario during a recent meeting, emphasizing that their party did not withdraw from the majority and that the PSD leader should give up the negotiated position in the Coalition.

In response, PSD states that if PNL requests Grindeanu's resignation, then Mircea Abrudean should also leave the leadership of the Senate. Grindeanu has avoided giving a clear answer regarding his resignation, mentioning that the positions are part of the governance protocol. PSD has set a three-day deadline for Prime Minister Bolojan to resign, otherwise PSD ministers could resign en bloc. The party is awaiting consultations with the president before taking further measures.
