Plaza Centers, a real estate developer with Israeli capital, contests Romania's allegations regarding delays in the Casa Radio project, claiming that the Romanian authorities are responsible for administrative obstacles and contractual breaches. The company has requested compensation of 385 million euros, citing losses caused by the delays. Recently, Plaza Centers extended the pre-sale agreement with AFI Europe for the sale of a 75% stake in the project until December 31, 2025. The Romanian government is preparing to seek the termination of the contract through an international court, arguing that the developer does not have the financial capacity to continue the project. Additionally, Plaza Centers has been involved in controversies related to corruption, but the investigations were closed due to lack of evidence. The Casa Radio project, leased for 49 years, has been abandoned, and the company has suffered significant losses following the financial crisis.
