The subway station Piața Victoriei 2 in Bucharest is temporarily closed on Wednesday morning due to massive water infiltrations caused by heavy rainfall. Metrorex announced that, to ensure the safety of traffic, the station remains closed until the completion of the repair works. Train traffic on Line 1 continues, with boarding and alighting of passengers at the Dristor 2, Ștefan cel Mare, Republica, and Gara de Nord 1 stations. Intervention teams are constantly working to evacuate the water, and Metrorex promises to resume traffic as soon as possible.
"As a result of the heavy rainfall recorded in the municipality of Bucharest and the massive water infiltrations, the track in the subway station Piața Victoriei 2 has been flooded. To conduct traffic in safe conditions, the Piața Victoriei 2 station remains temporarily closed until the necessary interventions and remediation of the situation are completed," Metrorex reported on Wednesday morning.
