A property owner in the Saint-Pierre neighborhood decided to demolish a house he bought in 2021, after a family of Romanians moved into the property and failed to live in it. In an interview with Le Télégramme, the owner explained that he had acquired it together with another man, demolishing the building with hammers and crowbars, after noticing that the occupants were not present. Although he tried to negotiate with them, offering them 2,000 euros to leave, the squatters changed their minds.

The owner filed a complaint with the police in 2023, and an investigation was opened. He mentioned that the family of squatters had previously occupied other homes in the neighborhood, and the house was unsanitary, posing health risks. Upon their return, the squatters found that their belongings had been thrown out onto the street.
