Seven women accuse Ovidiu Dragoș Argeșanu, "Reiki master" with tens of thousands of followers, who presents himself on his own website as a parapsychologist and therapist, of having sexually assaulted them during individual sessions "sold" as "therapies", according to a journalistic investigation signed by the investigative publication Snoop. According to Snoop, the number of clients reporting such incidents is, however, in the order of dozens.

The women recount in the investigation how, after invalidating and humiliating them, Argeșanu rebrands them as "embodied angels", using religious, pseudo-scientific, and esoteric discourse to legitimize his interventions.

Testimonies describe touches on breasts, intimate areas, and the insertion of fingers into the anus during so-called energy therapies, behaviors that the lawyer consulted by the publication, Vladimir Ignat, considers possible acts of rape or sexual assault, depending on the case.

According to Snoop, Argeșanu has built his image as a "great authority in spirituality" over nearly three decades, presenting himself as a doctor, therapist, Reiki master, and "man of science", despite not having a license for free practice and his practice not being officially regulated. His intense exposure at conferences, podcasts, and online groups, where he is presented as a "doctor" and "spiritual guide", consolidates his authority over an audience prone to magical thinking and in search of quick solutions to traumas or illnesses. Interviewed psychologists explain that humiliating labels, combined with the promise of "salvation" and a cult of angels, deeply vulnerable victims, erode their critical thinking, and make them easy to control.

In the spiritual space, Argeșanu is a feared figure: he attributes supernatural powers, threatens with "karma" and "diseases" to dissenters, and many women fear "energetic attacks", which discourages them from reporting the abuses, according to Snoop.

"Someone chose not to give their name, so they don't become the "target of many energetic attacks": "They attack my family, they attack my friends".

He dismisses the accusations as "nonsense" and claims to have a "clear conscience", while some former clients recount traumas, shame, and the feeling that they left the office "worse than they entered".

Argeșanu, investigated by the police

After the publication of the journalistic material, the police of the General Directorate of Police of Bucharest announced that they have taken notice ex officio and have started verifications regarding the reported aspects in order to accurately establish the factual situation and take the necessary legal measures.

Investigations by police officers from the Criminal Investigation Service Sector 4 emphasize that the support and cooperation of the victims are essential for the complete documentation of the case and the establishment of any legal responsibilities.

"In this way, we appeal to all individuals who have been victims of similar behaviors to contact the nearest police unit or to file a complaint, so that each situation can be analyzed carefully and in accordance with legal provisions," the police statement shows.
