Romania's partners condemned on Tuesday "in strong terms the aggressive and irresponsible conduct of the Russian Federation, which affects the security of the entire OSCE region," at the special joint meeting of the Security Cooperation Forum and the Permanent Council of the OSCE, organized following the incident with the Russian drone in Galați on the night of May 28-29, when two people were injured.
The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs requested an extraordinary meeting of the Security Cooperation Forum and the Permanent Council of the OSCE, attended by 43 states, which expressed support and solidarity with Romania.
The incident was attributed to the Russian Federation's attacks on Ukrainian ports, and Romania presented evidence indicating Russia's exclusive responsibility. Participants condemned Russia's aggressive behavior, highlighting its impact on regional security. Romania reiterated its commitment to support Ukraine and to use OSCE tools to document the crimes committed by Russia. The meeting was a response to the increasing regional tensions and was preceded by another meeting on the topic of Russian attacks on Ukraine.
