Ludovic Orban, presidential advisor, stated that judges are starting to act against the constitutional order through their opposition to pension reform. He emphasized the necessity for the government to adopt the law, even by assuming responsibility, in order not to lose European funds. Orban criticized the position of the judges, considering it unreasonable, and proposed amending the Constitution to calculate pensions based on contributions, similar to the majority of Romanians. He mentioned that, in the event that judges do not accept the proposed conditions, there could be a revision of the Constitution to ensure a fair pension calculation system. Orban warned that the behavior of the judges affects the interests of Romania, including the loss of essential European funds.
