On Monday, as part of Operation JUPITER, six searches were carried out in Bihor County, targeting the Micula brothers and their associated companies. Investigators suspect that they illegally transferred assets worth 163 million lei to companies controlled by them, in order to prevent the Romanian state from recovering illegally granted state aid.

Between 2018 and 2024, five legal entities were fraudulently managed, and their activities were marked by a complex mechanism of illegal asset transfers. These actions were carried out in the context of decisions by European courts, which established that the group must repay significant amounts to the Romanian state, considered illegal state aid. Investigators identified fraudulent methods of selling and offsetting claims, raising suspicions about the legality of these operations.
