Operation "Jupiter": 154 searches in Bucharest and several counties to combat crime

The General Prosecutor's Office and the Romanian Police continue the operation "Jupiter", carrying out 154 home searches in Bucharest and in several counties on Monday, as part of cases targeting economic and financial crimes, smuggling, forgery, fraud, aggravated theft, pimping, sexual assaults, and violations of the arms regime.

Authorities will execute 27 arrest warrants, estimating damages of over 11.74 million lei. Investigators are looking for documents, computer systems, and goods suspected to be derived from criminal activities. The operation also includes precautionary measures for recovering damages.

In the previous week, over 30 searches were conducted in counties such as Arad, Timiș, and Hunedoara, targeting forestry and environmental crimes. The General Prosecutor's Office emphasizes the seriousness of crimes against the environment, having direct effects on natural heritage and public health.
