The Austrian group OMV intends to reduce 2,000 employees, significantly impacting OMV Petrom. At the end of June, OMV Petrom had 10,158 employees and reported a turnover of 29.6 billion lei. Reductions will also take place in the refineries in Germany and Slovakia. Unions threaten protests if fair conditions are not offered for the affected employees. OMV has not commented on this information.
