Romania’s interim Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana Țoiu, will attend the funeral of King Harald V of Norway in Oslo on Wednesday. The king died on August 28 at the age of 89. The information was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The funeral ceremony will take place at Oslo Cathedral and will be officiated by Olav Fykse Tveit, presiding bishop of the Church of Norway. The presence of Romania’s representative at the funeral marks the country’s official participation in the event dedicated to the former Norwegian sovereign.
After the service, Harald V will be buried at Akershus Fortress in Oslo. The king died at the National Hospital in the Norwegian capital, where he had been admitted since August 17.
Harald V was Norway’s monarch until his death. The funeral brings together representatives of several countries and members of European royal families.
Minister Oana Țoiu will represent the Romanian Government at Wednesday’s official ceremony.
